Hare is the 67 Cracters of Avengers Infinity War
Luke Owen speculates on who might be in the cast of Avengers: Infinity War… avengers infinity war It was revealed yesterday that the cast of Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 was currently a wall with 67 character names on it. SIXTY-SEVEN. That’s a lot of characters. Suddenly that rumour of a $1 billion budget doesn’t seem too out of the realm of possibility. But who will be in the film? I’ve gone back through the various Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to speculate on all 67 members of the cast, as well as make predictions on future films to fill out the numbers. This is not an exact science, as you can imagine.
Let’s start things off with what we can probably guess for certain – the cast of bothAvengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War (as there is a lot of cross-over). Presuming that no one in the main cast dies in
Captain America: Civil War (which goes against the comic’s original ending), we have: 1. Captain America 2. Iron Man 3. Thor 4. Hulk 5. Black Widow 6. Hawkeye 7. Scarlet Witch 8 . Vision 9 . War Machine 10. Black Panther 11. Spider-Man 12. Winter Solider 13. Ant-Man/Giant-Man 14. Falcon 15. Agent 13 Okay, so that’s the first 15 out of the way. Now comes the easy one: thanos 16. Thanos We know that The Mad Titan will be our main baddie in Avengers: Infinity War, having been teased since the first Avengers way back in 2012, as well as featuring in
Guardians of the Galaxy and the closing moments of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thanos is guaranteed. So now we have those out of the way, let’s assume that the rest of Phase Three will feature in the film: 17. Doctor Strange 18. Captain Marvel 19. The Wasp These, again, seem fairly likely. Hard to imagine they’ll introduce these characters and then NOT have them in this film. And given that Thanos appeared in the first Guardians of the Galaxy and he has ties to several of the team, we can safely assume that we’ll have: Cover-art-for-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy_featured_photo_gallery_1 20. Star-Lord 21. Gamora 22. Drax the Destroyer 23. Rocket 24. Groot That takes care of our core characters from the main movies we’ve had so far – Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World,
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. So now we can look at the supporting characters. This is were more speculation starts to come in, and the majority of the following guesses would likely not be ‘main characters’. They would probably just appear in one or two scenes. But given the major scale of the movie, let’s assume that the supporting cast of Thor shows up: 25. Loki 26. Lady Sif 27. Heimdall 28. Volstagg 29. Fandral 30. Hogun 31. Erik Selvig Of the lot, Loki, Lady Sif and Erik Selvig seem the most certain. Selvig has shown up in both Thor movies and both Avengers films, and was seen at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron working for The New Avengers. Lady Sif has shown up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Loki is a firm favourite among fans. Tom Hiddleston did film a scene for the second Avengers outing, but it was eventually cut. As for the rest of Thor’s merry team of fighters, one would assume The God of Thunder would call upon his closest allies for a fight of this magnitude. That’s Thor, let’s look at Ant-Man: Ant-Man-Hank-Pym-Michael-Douglas-700x467 32. Hank Pym 33. Luis 34. Dave 35. Kurt Hank Pym seems like a good shout given his ties to S.H.I.E.L.D. and the fact he’s a former hero. Perhaps he might even suit up again for battle. As for Scott Lang’s team? Maybe we’ll see them in a cutaway or for one jokey scene. Iron Man and Captain America‘s casts are harder to pull from as most of them are already in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, which I’ve already detailed above. But they obviously don’t include: 36. Pepper Potts 37. Happy Hogan 38. Nick Fury 39. Maria Hill The first two would probably be small cameos (it would be weird to go so long without an appearance from Pepper Potts), while the second two are probably guaranteed appearances. Could you imagine an Avengers movie without Nick Fury or Maria Hill? 40. Laura Barton They can’t just set up Laura Barton with no payoff can they? Maybe she’ll show in the closing shots as Clint finally goes home. IncredibleHulkBetty 41. Betty Ross 42. Thunderbolt Ross / Red Hulk Thunderbolt Ross is finally returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War – which means the door is open for Liv Tyler to return as Betty Ross. Could make things awkward between Hulk and Black Widow… 43. Agent Carter Again, probably as a flashback or small-time cameo. Hayley Atwell has been in so many of these movies, she’ll somehow be in this one. And speaking of Agent Carter, that brings us to the TV-side of the cast. There has been plenty of rumours and speculation that the Netflix side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will show up in Avengers: Infinity War, and one would assume that if you’re amassing a mammoth cast of SIXTY-SEVEN characters (not to mention a budget of $1 billion), The Defenders could show up for the fight: defenders 44. Daredevil 45. Jessica Jones 46. Luke Cage 47. Iron Fist So that’s The Defenders, what about the supporting cast? 48. Foggy Nelson 49. Karen Page 50. Hellcat 51. Malcolm Ducasse 52. Punisher 53. Elektra These are, perhaps, long shots. Particularly Punisher and Elektra (we’ll have to see what happens following the events of the second season of Daredevil), but if you are going to have The Defenders then there is a good chance their supporting cast could show up in cameo roles. This would include Foggy, Karen and Malcom – but could also include Trish Walker taking on the mantle of Hellcat. This is, of course, presuming we’ll get another season of Jessica Jones where that transformation is complete. The other problem I have here is that I don’t know what supporting characters we’ll get from Luke Cage and Iron Fist, or what impact they will have on The Defenders moving forward. I’ve also not included Clare Temple/Night Nurse in the list, even though I probably should have. With that in mind, let’s move into the real speculation part of this list. We’ve still got fourteen pairs of shoes to fill, so let’s start by guessing who might be in Black Panther: Black_Panther_Shuri_h1 54. Monica Lynne 55. Shuri 56. Okoye If we’re including Betty Ross and Pepper Potts, we should probably include Monica Lynne. If they can’t do the relationship between T’Challa and Storm (for obvious reasons), this seems like the likeliest of love interests for him. The inclusion of his sister is there because Marvel are trying to show their forward thinking – and what better way to do that than by including a female Black Panther – and Okoye is here as the Happy Hogan addition. Captain Marvel is a trickier one. She’ll clearly have a supporting cast, but I get the feeling that many of them won’t feature – the same way that characters like Yondu or Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy probably won’t either. But, for the sake of fun, let’s say: 57. Ms. Marvel How cool would that be?! There has been some teases and rumours recently of a Ms. Marvel TV show or movie, so this doesn’t seem that out-there. Does it? And speaking of wishful thinking: Howard the Duck 58. Howard the Duck Hey, a guy can dream… can’t he? Back to more serious guesses, let’s assume the cast of the Marvel/Sony Spider-Man reboot will feature. And if they do, it will be the likely ensemble of: 59. Mary-Jane Watson 60. J. Jonah Jameson 61. Aunt May 62. Miles Morales Okay so the last one isn’t that likely, but this is again pure speculation. If there are going to be cameos from Spider-Man, it would have to be Mary Jane, Jameson and Aunt May – they’re the mainstays of Spider-Man after all. An alternative guess would be someone like Harry Osborn? Which bring us to our final countdown: Inhumans-Movie-News 63. Black Bolt 64. Medusa 65. Karnak 66. Triton 67. Maximus The Mad The Inhumans is in a very odd place within the Phase Three line-up, as it comes after Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2. People are talking about Superhero Fatigue now, and it seems bizarre to place a team-up movie directly after your biggest event. But if you are going to ask audiences to come back for more Marvel after you have their most epic of showdowns, you’d better introduce these characters in this film were there will be plenty of eyes to see them on the screen. Looking back at the list, I didn’t include people like Rhomann Dey and Nova Prime from Guardians of the Galaxy, and I probably overlooked Nebula. Dey and Prime are currently looking over the Power Stone in the Nova Corps headquarters on Xandar and unless Thanos gets the Stone in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he’ll have to get it in Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1. And if that’s the case, we would probably see Dey and Nova Prime in cameos. I’ve also not included Star-Lord’s father (whoever he may be), who one could assume will be a big part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – but will it be big enough to affect Avengers: Infinity War? If you think I did overlook them, pretend I put them in the actual list of Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales and Howard the Duck – even though I really want Howard the Duck in the movie. So that’s my guess for the SIXTY-SEVEN characters in Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2. Did I miss anyone? Did I over-guess on others?
